Who We Partner

People matter. We choose to work with heritage craft artisan families and vulnerable communities in our making process, seeking to present their skills and talents to the world. We visit our makers a few times a year, partnering them to create beautiful, sustainable fabrics.

NOST consciously partners artisan families and
sewing units with three aims in mind:

Preserving
Craft Heritage

Our artisans create hand-crafted beauty using intricate, heritage techniques that are quickly becoming extinct. We seek to preserve the precious artistry & knowledge of these centuries-old indigenous crafts, reinventing them through modern prints and innovation.

Growing our Sewing For Impact (SFI) Community

Sewing For Impact is an initiative that identifies sewists we can partner with. We commission them on a project basis, providing them with flexible job income. These sewists come from vulnerable communities, braving challenges in financial stability, education access, domestic strife or trauma.

Providing Safe
& Fair Employment:

Supporting the livelihoods of our artisans who come from small family businesses is key for us. We personally visit their workplaces to see firsthand that the environment is healthy. Each order helps to keep these families together doing what they love.
